Cross-Country Skiing in Reith
Cross-country skiing is a real fountain of youth for all, strengthening and helping to preserve muscles and joints.
Forget the problems of everyday life while gliding along the perfectly maintained cross-country trails against our fairytale mountain backdrop.
All cross-country trails are designed and prepared for both skaters and classic skiers. Cross-country skiers have roughly 60 km of cross-country trails at their feet on our doorstep, and when combined with the adjacent regions of Wilder Kaiser and Brixental valley, we have a total network of 500 kilometres of prepared trails. That is enough variety for everyone.
And the best thing is that all cross-country trails in our region can be used free of charge.
In Reith, the Sportloipe trail has become a real classic and highly popular in recent years. Cross-country skiers can join the trail right in the heart of the village above the church, and the route takes them to the Kitzbühel-Schwarzsee-Reith Golf Course over slightly hilly terrain.
What makes this cross-country trail – which is also suitable for advanced cross-country athletes – so special is that a roughly 2.5 km long section along the golf course is illuminated daily from nightfall until 9.30 p.m.
Snow coverage on this section is also guaranteed with technical snowmaking equipment. As a result, the Sportloipe trail can be used every day from December until the end of March.
Anyone who loves the athletic challenge of cross-country skiing should try the Bichlachloipe trail in Reith. It is a really hilly trail featuring some demanding climbs and downhill runs.
On the other hand, we created the Sonnenloipe trail for enthusiasts who want to glide through the fairy tale winter landscape along flat terrain on their cross-country skis and escape their everyday lives. And there is a good reason for the name – there are few trails where you can enjoy as many warming hours of sunshine as on this one.
