The most legendary sports town in the Alps

There’s always time for sport in the Alps’ most legendary sports town. Kitzbühel offers a unique blend of sport, tradition and lifestyle, resulting in the unmistakable Kitzbühel zest for life.

From mid-October to the start of May, there are fabulous conditions for skiing enthusiasts. Visitors can also get to know the slower side of this winter paradise away from the ski slopes. Without doubt, a holiday in Kitzbühel is a pleasure to treasure, with urban flair meeting typical Tirolean hospitality. You will find exclusive shopping side by side with local crafts in the Gamsstadt. More than 60 mountain restaurants entice you to take a refreshment break whilst skiing or hiking. For your evening meal, choose a traditional inn or a superb, award-winning restaurant.

Perfect skiing fun, fantastic slopes

The skiing season in Kitzbühel is a long one, with more than 200 days of skiing to enjoy. Keen skiers will find perfect conditions in Kitzbühel from mid-October to the start of May. Once again this year, Bergbahn AG Kitzbühel will start to operate for the new winter season on 19 October, the first non-glacier ski resort in Austria to do so. Kitzbühel also offers a variety of terrain away from the famous Streif downhill race course.
Everyone from beginners to advanced skiers can enjoy the 234 kilometres of slopes at their fingertips.

Beginners have the chance to improve their technique on 106 kilometres of easy ski runs, whilst more ambitious skiers enjoy the 79 kilometres of moderately difficult and hard slopes. You are guaranteed to have a great time on a total of 92 marked and groomed ski runs, covering an area of 567 hectares.
It’s not just the statistics that are impressive. As you look out from the chairlift to the Südberge mountains and across to the Hohe Tauern mountain range, you realise why people come to Kitzbühel to ski. It’s hardly surprising that the ski report has been crowned Austria’s Best Ski Resort for the fifth time.
